Suite of 10 ‘light drawings’ made with photocopier
Acetate mounted on Bockingford watercolour paper
Each 20.5 x 29.5cm
These drawings were an abstract response to Bradley’s experience of sunlight in Galápagos. She saw the equatorial sun as being parallel to a photocopier: a white band of light hunting the land, silently shaping and registering it. Using acetate, paper and a photocopier, Bradley attempted to capture light and frame it like a specimen.
Commissioned as part of the Gulbenkian Foundation’s Galápagos Artists’ Residency; first shown in ‘Galápagos’ at the Bluecoat, Liverpool, UK (2012).
