Bradley asked a Canberran forester to select a favourite city tree. She then asked a diverse group of people – from artists to historians to scientists – to speak about that tree from their perspective. The resulting views were interwoven with a text by the philosopher Martin Buber in which he considers a tree as a means of exploring relationships.
Commissioned for the City of Trees project for the Centenary of Canberra 2013; work made in collaboration with Jonquil Panting and Adam Fowler.
First presented in ‘City of Trees’ at The National Library of Australia, Canberra, Australia (2013).
