Suite of 25 ‘light’ drawings
Acetate on vintage herbarium paper
Each 20.5 x 29.5cm
These drawings were made using the light from a photocopier in concert with the unique marks (plant matter/light streaks) found on vintage blotting (herbarium) paper that Bradley discovered at Yarralumla Nursery, Canberra’s first tree nursery. This work was inspired by conversations concerning the role of trees in forming a city’s identity with Aldo Giurgola, architect of Canberra’s new Parliament House.
Commissioned as part of the City of Trees project for the Centenary of Canberra 2013.
First shown in ‘City of Trees’ at The National Library of Australia, Canberra, Australia (2013). Collection: Canberra Museum and Art Gallery, Australia (5 drawings).
