Light box diptych with twin metal panels
Light boxes, Duratrans mounted on Perspex, fluorescent tubes, powder coated steel panels, vinyl wall text
Each 104 x 77 x 9cm
One of Bradley’s earliest works to use ‘off the shelf’ commercial light boxes, this piece juxtaposes the formal anonymity of the box as a vehicle for brand identity with images of young women at a party. Naming Spaces introduces Bradley’s interest in the writing of Marcel Proust and reflects upon the dilemma of choice, both in friendship and art.
First shown at ‘Interim Jeune’ at Maureen Paley Interim Art, London (1989).
